Ready Set Go! Transfers Are You Ready?

January 15th can’t get here fast enough for several high school programs across the state. Why is that date so special you ask? That is the day that their talented transfers become eligible to compete. Here is a look at three transfers that could make a massive impact once they step on the court:

5'7" PG 2019 Alyza Winston
Previous School: Muskegon Mona Shores; New School: Muskegon
A two-year starter during her freshman and sophomore campaign at Mona Shores, the talented Winston transferred over to arch-rival Muskegon over the summer. Winston will have an immediate impact
from the opening tip. Is she the missing piece to the puzzle for the Big Reds to make a deep run come March? Only time will tell, but this will be a team that I would not want to face in the state tournament in a winner takes all game.

5'8" PG 2020 Aaliyah McQueen
Previous School: Goodrich; New School: Flint Carman-Ainsworth
The Cavaliers are already a dangerous Top 10 team in Class A, and now you add McQueen to the mix will give Head Coach Lance Belill a legitimate chance of winning it all. McQueen is a physical player that can play both guard spots and can also defend multiple positions on the floor. Her presence on the court will keep teams honest and will even give sharpshooter Destiny Strother '19 more open looks which will make the Cavaliers even more dangerous on the offensive end.

5'6" SG 2019 Sammiyah Williams
Previous School: Memphis (TN); New School: Wayne Memorial
Coach Jarvis Mitchell can't wait to get Williams on the court!  This impressive athletic guard will give him added depth to play more aggressively on the defensive end. Williams brings speed and quickness to an already talented Zebras lineup, which will ease some of the pressure off of Cam Clegg and Janae Terry. The addition of Samaria will give them the extra push they will need if the Zebras intend to make it to Grand Rapids come March.
