Top Teams From The Westside of The State Went Head To Head

Byron Center, MI: The Lake Michigan Jamboree took place Saturday afternoon at Byron Center High School. High school coaches from the western side of the state were able to see where they stand after a few weeks of practice. Here are some key performers from the event:

Natalie Foster Mattawan 6’5” Center 2020
Foster, at 6’5 has excellent feet and hands around the basket. She is impressive overall as she also demonstrated range from behind the arc. Expect foster to have a breakout year this year

Emma Inman St. Joseph 5’6” Guard 2020
Emma did what she does best Saturday afternoon, and that is knock down open shots! She has a quick and consistent trigger that will help the lady bears all winter long.

Samantha Underhill Northview 6’0 Forward 2019
Sam is the anchor to coach Antrim tough, hard nose defense. She held her own again more prominent post on the defensive side. Showed she could knock down the open shot 1n their drive and kick offense.

Ellie Dykstra Byron Center 6’1” Guard 2018
The Bulldogs will rely a lot on this D-1 recruit this winter to compete for the O-K Green Championship. Dykstra displayed her ability to make all her teammates better and hit the glass extremely hard.

Jolee Houle Zeeland West 5’7” Guard 2020
Houle was arguably the best player in the gym Saturday evening. She showed her knack for stepping up in big games vs. East Kentwood by doing whatever she wanted to score all over the court. If Houle is consistent with her play all winter, the ducks will contend for an O-K Green championship.

Amiyah Vandergeld Caledonia 6’1” Guard 2019
Amiyah had no problem adjusting to her new team this year. She did what she does best in knocking down open 3’s.She also showed that she could get to the basket and finish with contact.

Jayla Strickland Big Rapids, 6’2” Center 2018
The Cardinals will need their Northwood commit to be consistent if they want to get the best out of their season. Jayla was a force on the glass and showed excellent footwork ability.

Corrine Jemison East Kentwood 6’4” Center 2018
Kentwood will have a significant target on their back this year, and Jemison will be a major focus. Jemison who is D-1 Volleyball recruit showed her force around the glass and her ability to knock down contested jumpers. Coach Carter will make sure the lady Falcons will look to get Corrine lots of touches this season.
