The Future Is Bright in the Mitten Part 1

Make no mistake about it, the Class of 2021 is deep! With the high school season just two months away, many players have been diligently preparing. Whether it has been with a personal trainer, travel club or with their high school team, young players are putting in work to ensure they are ready to compete this winter. Here are three standout players that should make an immediate impact with their respective teams in the 2017-18 season:

Damiya Hageman 5'7" PG Detroit Edison
Hageman is a real true point guard who can take over any game and lead her team to victory in a variety of ways. This year, though very able, she will not have to do much as she is surrounded by a slew of other super talented players! As Damiya makes a smooth transition to the high school game, it will be exciting to watch her join this gifted team and continue to grow. Already holding scholarship offers from Detroit Mercy, Ohio State, DePaul, UMass and Houston, this list is guaranteed to grow in the upcoming months.

Morasha Wiggins 6' WG Kalamazoo Central
Wiggins is an athletic wing who has good jumping ability that allows her to finish well at the rim. She also is a good mid-range shooter, defender, and rebounder. The Maroon Lady Giants made it to the Class A Quarterfinals last season, and with the addition of Wiggins, and a solid returning nucleus, new Head Coach Jason Plunkett has a legitimate chance to get the Final Four this season.

Bree Salenbien 6'2" SF Adrain Lenawee Christian
Bree is a player that nobody knew about until her breakout performance at the Michigan-Ohio Border Battle in July. Salenbein can handle the ball, finish in transition, score off the bounce, and also can shoot it from the perimeter. She attends a small Class D school (Lenawee Christian), and will probably not get a chance to play in many showcase events, or against high profile teams from the state of Michigan, but that should not stop college recruiters from checking out this very talented young lady.
