Romulus, MI:  The first annual LBI Summer Sizzler was phenomenal and featured a number of talented high school standouts. There were many players from all levels in attendance competing underneath one roof in front of several Division I, Division II, Division III & NAIA coaches. Many players brought their “ A Game” as coaches sat back and relaxed ate some popcorn and enjoyed the show. A few notable players were:

Rickea Jackson 2019 W Michigan Crossover 16U EYBL
Jackson was a beast! The skilled wing proved that she can do it all! Scoring the ball in many different ways, she was able to slash through contact and finish at the rim. Also, she was an excellent perimeter rebounder who went coast to coast and made things happen for her Michigan Crossover squad.

Kierstan Bell 2019 SF 77 South Elite
Bell is a raw athlete. Her vertical and athleticism is off the charts! Her offensive game is very versatile because she can play the 1-5 position(s). Her ball handling ability is what got her defenders shaking out of their shoes as she blew by them and finished at the rim every time. There were times when she posted up smaller defenders and finished right over them. Not to mention, she has a nice jump shot and was able to hit shots in transition and off the dribble.

Keara Felix 2019 SF Colorado Hawks
Felix is a freak athlete who’s very athletic and competes every play down the floor. She was a rebounding machine going after every rebound that went up on the glass. Her presence on the court was known after blocking shot after shot and playing hard! Literally, every shot that went up she went to box out and snatch down the rebound. She was able to catch and finish in traffic as well.

Taylor Valladay 2019 PG Example Sports 2018
A lightning quick guard with the ball in her hands, she was able to blow by defenders and finish at the rim. Valladay played with a lot of energy and intensity, which made it tough for defenders to stay in front of her. Valladay attacked the basket consistently and ended up at the free throw line a lot.

Mila Reynolds 2022 SF IL X-Citement
Reynolds, only going to the 8th grade, dominants the older competition! Playing up a few grades doesn’t faze her a bit. She got her shot off today and lit it up from deep. She rebounded the ball and pushed the ball in transition, scoring on the break and finding open teammates. She finishes with either hand and handles contact very well.

Nadege Jean 2018 PF IL X-Citement 17U
You want energy? This kid brings it! She’s very active on the glass and fights for almost every rebound and loose ball. She ran the middle of the floor that resulted in fast break points and she out rebounded the opposition big time! Jean converted on many “And Ones” during Day One.

Cameron Williams 2020 PF Mac Irvin Fire Godfather
Williams was a rebounding machine in the low post! She went after every rebound and battled down low with everybody. She gathered a large number of offensive rebounds and went back up and finished. Williams didn’t let anyone out rebound her and she was a huge rim protector for her Mac Irvin Fire Godfather squad.

Abrie Cabana 2021 PG Michigan Premier
When Cabana was knocking down her perimeter and three points shots she was hard to contain. Her shooting had defenders closing out on her quickly and she blew by them and dished the ball out to open teammates. Her tough defense caused trouble for opponents and resulted in a lot of steals.
