Here's A Few Top Performers From The "Ville"

Edyn Battle 2020  SG All-Ohio 15U EYBL
In a thrilling overtime win over North Tartan, Battle came up big.  Her flair for the dramatic was evident throughout the game.  She knocked down shots from everywhere; some were of the circus variety as she fell to the floor.  All-Ohio faced a large deficit for most of the second half until Edyn sparked a late run.  She put pressure on North Tartan with her ability to score in the open court.  With six seconds left in regulation Eden knocked down a deep three under extreme duress that sent the game into overtime.  In the extra period Edyn continued her scoring ways and eventually put the game away with two late free throws.  She provided clutch scoring to play a major role in the victory.

Angel Reese 2020 Forward Team Takeover 15U EYBL
Reese is a very long wing that ran the offense for the Takeover in a matchup against North Tartan.  Her speed with the ball kept the defense on their heels as she attacked the rack on every possession.  This attacking style resulted in easy scores inside and several trips to the charity stripe.  She is a big time talent who creates a matchup nightmare for teams trying to defend against her unusual athleticism.

Destiny Strother 2019 Guard Michigan Storm Elite 15 Taylor
Known as a knockdown three-point shooter, Destiny lived up to that moniker in a very exciting 49-48 victory over the Philly Comets.  She made three point shots in the first half to keep the game close and made big three point shots in the second half to bring the Storm back from a large second half deficit.  In the win or go home semifinal matchup the Storm found themselves down by 5 with 52 seconds left in the game.  Teammate Moira Joiner hit a three pointer to pull the Storm within 2 at 48-46.  After a stop, Strother caught a pass just left of the top of the key and drilled a triple with a hand in her face as the Storm prevailed 49-48 to move on to the Championship game in their division.

Ashlyn Watkins 2022 Center South Carolina 76ers Sizzle
The 6’3” 8th grader-to-be dominated the paint in a hard fought win over 1Nation Ahart.  She scored inside with ease as she jumped over any defender in her way.  Her ability to block shots made it very difficult for 1 Nation to score.  Ashlyn showed that she handles the ball like a wing as she took the ball coast to coast on several occasions for easy layups or drop offs to teammates.  When faced with double teams in the post her excellent interior passing led to layups for the 76ers.

Paige Buekers 2020 PG North Tartan 14U
Buekers is the consummate point guard in any style of play.  In a win against FGB she controlled all facets of the game.  When she receives the outlet she is already looking down court for open teammates.  She assisted or scored on the vast majority of North Tartan’s points. Paige is a pass first PG who can score at will.  Her signature move is a drive to the basket with a quick pull up off the glass.  The shot is as effortless and consistent as a layup for the young floor general.  Her unusual court awareness coupled with her tremendous efficiency on the court make the future very bright for this young star.
