Fort Wayne, IN: Day 2 of the Gym Rats Invitational did not disappoint as teams competed vigorously to reach the tournament championship rounds. There were some serious rivalries and dynamic matchups that created an electric atmosphere in the Spiece Fieldhouse. Here are a few standout performers on the day…….

Michaela White 2018 Wing George Hill Lady Stars 17U
White is athletic and long, and showcased her skills over the weekend. She demonstrated her superior ball handling abilities as well as rebounding skills. She has an impressive overall game. White consistently hit shots from behind the arc and penetrated gaps and get to the rim. White was dominant each time she stepped on the court. Whenever she needed to get to the basket and create contact; she made things happen. Whenever a shot went up she hurried to position, snatched down rebounds and went back up with the ball. Her contributions were invaluable and helped her squad to an Elite Sliver Championship.

Kate McArthur 2019 Guard 1 Nation Elite
Sometimes we tend to forget how valuable this kid is due to her playing with such a spectacular backcourt. McArthur had it going on Sunday afternoon. The 5’7” sharpshooter exploded for a game high 32 points! With 9 three-pointers, she almost single handily led her 1 Nation team to another victory over the Michigan Crossover 16U EYBL squad. Kate was very effective coming off screens and moved very well without the ball to find the open spots on several drive and kicks.

Hannah Noveroske 2019 Post Nike Lady Gym Rats Gold EYBL 15U
Hannah wrapped up a dominant weekend of play with a couple of double-double efforts while helping the Lady Gym Rats to some impressive wins on the final day of competition.  Noveroske powered the ball into the basket in a variety of ways and showed a solid overall floor game on Sunday to help her team to the 15U Platinum Championship.

Jada Roberson 2019 Point Guard Nike Lady Gym Rats Tan 16U
Roberson is so unique and nice with the ball. She destroyed defenders with her handles and that freed her up easily to get to the rim. The 5’8” floor general has tremendous body control around the rim and showed her ability to convert inside and dish the ball off to her teammates.

Alyza Winston 2019 Guard Michigan Crossover EYBL 16U
The cat quick guard showcased her knack for putting the ball through the nets. Winston hit shots from all over and put pressure on anyone that was defending her by slashing to the hoop and finishing with her patent spin move or a pull-up jumper. Her stellar play help lead the Michigan Crossover to an Elite Division Gold Championship in Fort Wayne this past weekend

Sydney Graber 2020 Forward Always 100 Wilmont
A member of Homestead High School’s state championship team, Sydney showed that the word quit is not in her vocabulary Sunday against the Michigan Crossover. She started the game in attack mode.  A potent inside/outside scoring threat, Graber led her team with 16 first half points as they trailed 38-36 at the break.  She finished perfect from the free-throw line (16-16) en route to a game high 25 points in the 67-57 loss.

Kailee Davis 2021 Point Guard Michigan Crossover 14U
Part of a strong backcourt, Davis is a young feisty guard who gets the job done on the court. Only standing at 5’4”, most times she’s the smallest on the court but that doesn’t mean a thing. Davis was on fire today opening up the game against West Virginia Thunder hitting her squad’s first ten points. She was able to hit shots in transition and score on the fast break. She’s a silent killer on the court, she poured in 23 points in a loss to West Virginia Thunder. She was very dominant and got her teammates involved finding them on the block and the wing for open shots.

Morasha Wiggins 2021 Wing Michigan Crossover 14U
Wiggins game at the wing is so smooth. Her ability to get to the basket and finish is what kept her Michigan Crossover squad in a battle. She stepped up in the second half scoring buckets in transition by running the floor. She only took one or two dribbles and finished strong at the rim to convert the “and ones”. Her mid range game has improved and she hit the ten foot jumpers with ease.

Jada Roberson 2019 Point Guard Nike Lady Gym Rats Tan 16U
Roberson is so unique and nice with the ball. She destroyed defenders with her handles and that freed her up easily to get to the rim.
