Defending Class A Champs Warren Cousino Is Headed Back To The Breslin Center

Warren Cousino 47 Farmington Hills Mercy 41

Kierra Fletcher 5’10" G Warren Cousino HS 2017
Kierra played a very efficient floor game for the Lady Patriots last night.  She shot well from the floor (7-12) and the free-throw line (5-6).  Kierra scored a game high 19 points, but also filled the stat sheet in other categories; she dished out 5 assists and also had 4 steals and 4 blocks.  The Georgia Tech signee made three key defensive stops and four free throws down the stretch to secure the victory for Cousino.

Kate McArthur 5’9" G/F Warren Cousino HS 2019
McArthur’s shooting range opened the game up early for Cousino.  She hit two three-pointers in the first quarter to give Cousino a lead they would never relinquish.  Her ability to hit long-range bombs opened up driving lanes for Fletcher.  She is the kind of player that can keep any defense honest.  Kate also possesses toughness on defense and on the boards that is vital to the Lady Patriot’s success.

Chloe Godbold 5’4" G Farmington Hills Mercy HS 2017
Godbold played her heart out for her team last night.  She left it all on the floor.  She did her best defensive job of the season in trying to slow down one of the state’s best players in Kierra Fletcher.  On offense, she led her team with 16 points.  There were many instances in the game when Mercy could have given up, but Godbold would have none of that.  She connected on two timely three’s and encouraged her team when they faced double-digit deficits during the game.

Jackie Bauer 5’6" G Farmington Hills Mercy HS 2017
Bauer (10 points), was not ready to go home last night.  She kept fighting back when Mercy got down.  She hit two big three-pointers during a second half run by Mercy.  Jackie came up with two steals during another second half run.  She displayed the ‘never say die’ attitude that was evident in the entire Mercy team.

Jenna Schluter 5’9" G Farmington Hills Mercy HS 2018
Schluter (10 points), played a major role in Mercy’s attack early in the game.  She was in foul trouble throughout the game, which limited her effectiveness.  Her presence on the floor made it obvious that her impact on the game would have been greater if she were able to play more minutes.  She is one to watch for next season in the Catholic league.
