The following young ladies made the state of Michigan look very good in Ohio

Damiya Hageman '21 has a very bright future ahead of her

Perryburg, OHAs always, the Michigan lady ballers represented their teams and state to the highest level this weekend. They not only stood out to the college coaches that came by, but made a statement to our regional counter-parts as well. The following young ladies made some of the players that made Michigan proud.

#5 Rickea Jackson  2019  6’3”  Wing/Post  Michigan Crossover EYBL
Jackson was by far the most versatile player this weekend. Standing a legitimate 6’3”, Rickea did everything from leading the break in transition, to posting up bigger players and finishing strong. During her first game on Saturday, Jackson had an allergic reaction that caused both eyes to almost swell shut. That did not stop her or even slow her down. She continued to dominate the boards, finish at the rim and even knocked down a big three.

#22 Cameron Grant  2020  6’1”  Wing  Michigan Mystics-Black
Disciplined and fundamentally sound, Grant was impressive from the jump-ball of her first game to the final buzzard of her last. She has a strong solid build that she uses to show off some impressive post moves against smaller players. She also has a killer shot that she was able to knock down off the dribble. On defense, she is aggressive and tough. Cameron was very vocal on team defense and was able to defend multiple positions, never shying away from a challenge.

#2 Jeanae Terry  2019  5’8”  Guard  1 Nation – 11thgrade
Terry showed her resiliency this weekend. In every game, she played almost the entire 32 minutes while continuing to stay effective. She has great ball handling and did a great job of creating scoring opportunities for herself. Her long arms enabled her to deflect passes and create steals that resulted in buckets in transition.

#2 Kaela Webb  2018  5’6”  PG  Michgan Crossover EYBL
Webb did a terrific job of knowing her personnel and working to get her teammates involved. After taking a nasty fall Friday night, Webb bounced back and came ready to play. She made some amazing passes and knocked down some nice shots in the paint and behind the arc. Kaela did not over dribble and made sure the ball kept moving in offensive sets.

#11 Jasmine Clerkley  2020  5’11”  Wing  Michigan Triple Threat
It was clear the Clerkley has been working on her ball handling and shooting to slowly transition from the post to the wing. However she has not lost her dominating skills in the paint and used them throughout the weekend. Jasmine used her strength to continuously seal off opponents to grab rebounds and score easy baskets.

#22 Kenzie Lewis  2020  5’9”  Point Guard  Michigan Triple Threat
A very poised floor general that gets results by making the right plays whether it is the simple pass when the defense commits, knocking down jumpers from the perimeter, or making the pull up jumper from the free throw line.  She has nice athleticism and a very good basketball IQ. Will be a name to remember in this talented class of 2020 in the state of Michigan.

#1 Damiya Hageman  2021  5’6”  Point Guard  Michigan Crossover 15u
Picking up where she left off in July, Damiya played with the skill and maturity of a high school junior. She was poised in intense situations, she made several big plays for herself and teammates, and was one of the best defenders at the tournament. Her basketball IQ is unreal. This allowed her to slide into the point guard position in order to direct traffic and run her team’s offense.
