Over 600 teams invaded the Music City Center In Downtown Nashville To Showcase Their Talents

Nashville, TN – The opening day of the Battle in the Boro was filled with some top performances from some of the best young players in the country. Over 600 teams invaded the Music City Center in downtown Nashville to showcase their talents.

Rhyne Howard 2018 6’ Wing FBC United (TN)
Rhyne is a versatile forward that was very efficient at scoring during the day. She has a soft touch, and can put it on the floor and attack from the wing or the high post.  Howard is a good athlete who shows tenacity on the defensive end with a strong rebounding game.

Edecia Beck 2018 5’11” Wing Michigan Crossover EYBL Brown (MI)
Beck, who was making her first appearance on the EYBL circuit, was one of the top standouts on Day 1. She’s an athletic wing that can score in transition or off the dribble in the half court. Beck was at her best getting teammates involved with her superb court vision that allowed her to make some nice passes in a tight window.

Jasmine Franklin 2018 6’2” Texas United (TX)
Big body post that moves well without the ball and did a lot of damage on the low block. Franklin showed good hands, footwork and a soft touch while scoring on either side of the rim.  She is a very good passer from the high post where she made several good entry passes for easy scoring opportunities. Defensively, she gets good position and will contest every shot making it very difficult for her opponent to get easy looks.

Jamir Huston 2018 6’ Wing Sports City U (OH)
Hutson is yet another impressive talent that will emerge from the Sport City U program. She is a very athletic wing that was good in the open floor as she made some great decisions with the ball in her hands. She made a couple of nice mid range jumpers with nice lift on her shot to shoot over her defender. Jamir was relentless on the boards, which allowed her to get a few put back layups.

Katelynn Sherwood 2018 5’8” Point Guard Factory Basketball (MI)
Sherwood looks to be close to 100% after suffering a minor ankle sprain a few weeks ago. She was very explosive getting to the rim and hustling on the defensive end of the floor where she made a lot of hustle plays. If she wasn’t getting the steal, Sherwood was getting deflections. She didn’t score a lot of points, however she did everything that her team asked her to do on Day 1 in Nashville.
