2012 LBI JAM FEST RULES
Each team will play a minimum of 4 games in the event
Tiebreakers for seeding purposes within pools will be as follows:
1) head to head
2) point differential in all games (15 pt. Max)
3) coin toss performed by the tournament or site director - coaches to be present
1. MHSAA HIGH SCHOOL RULES will be followed with the following exceptions. Each player will receive 6 personal fouls 1 & 1 Bonus Shots after the 10th team foul, No Double Bonus.
2. Games length will consist of two 16 minute stopped clock halves AND a 3-minute halftime for ALL age levels. There will be a 4-minute warm-up period between games time permitting.
3. Overtime periods will be two (2) minutes in length (stopped clock). In pool play only, the second overtime will be decided by the team who scores the first TWO points.
4. Teams will be allowed (3) full time-outs during the regulation game. Teams will receive (1) time out in overtime. Time-outs do NOT carry over from regulation to the over-time period.
5. There will be a running clock any time the lead is 20 points or more in the second half of the game, A stopped clock is in effect again below 20 points.
6. Players will be allowed to play for one team only. Once a player enters a game for one team, she will no longer be eligible to participate for another team. This rule is in effect to protect the health and safety of our players. The decision of the tournament director and/or committee will be final. NO EXCEPTIONS
7. Unsigned seniors are eligible for the LBI JAM FEST. Teams looking to have an unsigned senior participate in the event will be placed in the ELITE DIVISION.
8. If a player or coach is ejected from the game they will automatically be suspended for the next game and may be ejected from the tournament. The tournament director/committee may exercise discretion and will have the final decision. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated at this event. Any fan, parent, coach or player not meeting this obligation will be asked to leave the facility no questions asked. NO refunds will be given.
9. All teams are expected to arrive for games PRIOR to the scheduled start times. A five-minute grace period will be allowed before a forfeit is declared. In bracket play, if a team cannot advance, the losing team will advance in their place. The tournament director or site director will have final say regarding all forfeits.
10. All protests must be communicated to the site director 15 minutes after the completion of the game. Any final score discrepancies will be decided by the official book. The tournament director decision will be final.
11. There is no designated "home team" as some teams have only one set of uniforms at this time of year. It is suggested that the first team listed in pool play and the top team in the bracket play be home and wear white jerseys and sit to the left of the score table.
12. Each team will be given 3 coaches & 1 scorekeeper passes. ONLY coaches with a coaching pass will be allowed on the bench - no exceptions. This will be strictly enforced throughout the event. Please do not ask for additional passes. (Each team must provide a clock or scorekeeper)
